The cupping treatment is also known in ancient times as "suction treatment", "cupping gas" and "corner method". According to the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), people suffer from external pathogenic factors such as wind, cold, heat, moisture, dryness, fire and six Chi (Qi) as well as from functional disorders of the internal organs and meridians and blood. At the same time, the appearance of a disease is closely related to the body's immunity. If the body's immunity is insufficient, then under the action of pathogenic factors, various pathological manifestations appear, such as: B. poor circulation of chi (qi), blood and duct disorders.
The principle of the TCM cupping treatment is to use the management function of the meridian and the two-way regulation of the human body through local stimulation of the acupuncture points on the body surface in order to support the fair Chi (Qi) and to eliminate the pathogenic factors in the Body.
MECHANICAL STIMULATION
Cupping therapy creates a negative pressure inside the cup by sucking out air. The rim of the cup can be tightly connected to the surface of the skin and can pull nerves, muscles, blood vessels, and subcutaneous glands, causing a variety of neuroendocrine reactions, regulating vasomotor, contractile functions, and improving the permeability of blood vessels for local blood circulation.
NEGATIVE PRESSURE EFFECT
The negative pressure effect of cupping causes rapid local congestion and blood stasis, small capillaries and even a rupture, red blood cells are destroyed and hemolysis occurs. The release of hemoglobin in red blood cells is a benign stimulus to the body. It can regulate the functions of tissues and organs in both directions via the nervous system, while promoting phagocytosis of white blood cells, improving the sensitivity and tolerance of the skin to external changes, and strengthening the body's immunity.
THERMAL EFFECT
The local warming effect of cupping not only dilates the blood vessels and increases blood flow, but also improves the permeability of the blood vessel walls and the ability of cells to phagocytose. The changes in vascular tension and mucosal permeability at the cupping site, accelerated lymphatic circulation and increased phagocytosis will undoubtedly create a good antibacterial environment for infectious lesions. In addition, the chronic stimulation of hemolysis has a health protective function for the human body.
There are several commonly used cupping methods:
1. The method of storing the cup is also called sitting the cup: that is, after the cup is absorbed on the body surface, the cup is sucked and left on the surgical site for 10-15 minutes, and then the cup is lifted off. This method is a commonly used method that can be applied to general diseases, and it can be applied to single cups and multiple cups.
2. The cupping pull-out method is also known as the pull-around method: while cupping, apply a layer of lubricant to the skin or the rim of the cup and pull the cup against your body. Then the doctor will hold the cup in his hand and slide it up and down or left and right to the desired part on the body. Then lift the cup up and down when the skin of the pulled part is red and clogged. This method is suitable for areas with large areas and rich muscles such as the back, waist, hips, and thighs.
3. Piercing bA good cupping method is also called phlebotomy cupping method: after disinfecting the skin of the part to be treated, pierce the bleeding with a triangular needle or tap the bleeding with a skin needle and then suck the cupping on the pierced part to make it bleed. Generally, after pricking blood, cupping is left on for 10 to 15 minutes. It is mainly used to treat erysipelas, sprains, and breast carbuncles.
Common indications are shoulder pain, neck pain, back pain, strain, etc. There are many indications for cupping treatment, ranging from shoulder and back pain to some medical conditions.
Cupping treatment is not suitable for diabetics whose skin wounds are not easy to heal, pregnant women, and those with skin ulcers.
