Moxibustion is a type of external treatment in which moxa wool is burned and the resulting heat is applied to acupuncture points on the body. Moxibustion can excavate meridians and regulate Chi or Qi blood and has been used to prevent and cure diseases for more than 2500 years. Moxibustion effects are based on two aspects: the action of the meridian system and the role of moxa and fire.
According to the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the heat generated during moxibustion contributes to the flow of life energy (also known as "Qi" or "Chi") via certain pathways (known as "Qi" or "Chi") in the body to increase meridians ”). In traditional Chinese medicine, stimulating the flow of Chi (Qi) is considered essential for achieving health and wellbeing. In fact, physical and mental health problems are believed to develop (in part) as a result of blockages in the flow of chi (qi).
